Understanding the Unique Challenges of Executives
As an executive, you are no stranger to the pressures and demands that come with high-level leadership. The relentless drive to succeed, the responsibility of making decisions that affect entire organizations, and the constant need to perform at your best can take a toll on your mental health. Meet Dr. Torres
Hi, I’m Dr. Yoendry Torres, a bilingual, bicultural licensed clinical psychologist providing telehealth services to executives and professionals in Tucson, Arizona and PsyPACT states.
With over 15 years of clinical experience, I help professionals navigate anxiety, stress, and the psychological demands of leadership and high-stakes decision-making. I also bring experience as a 5th dan black belt in Taekwondo and a coach, giving me insight into the mental skills required to perform under pressure.

Burnout in Founders and Executives
Burnout in leaders rarely looks like collapse. More often it looks like a high performer who is still delivering but no longer feels anything about the work. You might still be hitting targets while sleeping badly, snapping at people you care about, and dreading Monday by Sunday afternoon. Because the results keep coming, the warning signs are easy to explain away.
As a former C-suite executive and an entrepreneur who has built several businesses, I know this pressure from the inside. Here are three situations I see often. Each is a composite, not a real client.
The founder who can’t turn it off
Three years into building a company, she answers Slack at midnight and checks revenue numbers before getting out of bed. The business is growing, but she feels flat, irritable and quietly anxious that it could all fall apart. Taking a day off feels irresponsible. In therapy, we separate her worth from the company’s performance and rebuild limits she can actually keep.
The executive who was promoted into isolation
He earned the top job and lost his peers in the process. He can’t vent to his team, his board wants confidence, and his family hears only “fine.” The stress shows up as poor sleep, short temper and a drink or two more each night than he’d like. Therapy gives him one place where he doesn’t have to perform, and practical tools for the anxiety underneath.
The leader who succeeded and feels empty
She hit the goal she spent fifteen years chasing: the exit, the title, the number. Instead of relief, she feels lost. Without the next mountain, she doesn’t know who she is. This is where my existential and logotherapy training helps most. We work on meaning, identity and what success looks like now.
How I work with leaders
- Confidential by default. Nothing reaches your company, board or investors.
- Evidence-based and practical. I combine CBT, mindfulness and meaning-centered work, so you leave each session with something you can use.
- Fits a demanding schedule. Sessions are available in person in Tucson or by secure video anywhere in Arizona and in 40+ PSYPACT states.

Questions About Therapy With Dr. Torres
Is this therapy or coaching?
This is therapy not coaching. I provide psychotherapy to executives and entrepreneurs experiencing anxiety and/or depression to help them find relief.
Can I use superbills for it?
Yes, this is a therapy service so it is may be reimbursable for out of network (OON) services by your insurance provider. The superbill is the document that the insurance company will want to see to determine if the service is a covered OON service.
How is confidentiality handled for high-profile clients?
With the highest privacy and confidentiality in mind. For example, progress notes are thematic rather than specific to protect client’s privacy. This is handled the same way it would be for any client receiving psychological services from Dr. Torres.
Do you work with founders outside Arizona?
Yes, but they need to reside in one of the PSYPACT states. See the telehealth page for more details.
What does a first session cover?
The first session is a clinical interview that covers background information including the reason you are seeking services, family history, educational history, occupational history, medical history, strengths and weaknesses, and treatment plan/goals. At the end of the first session, Dr. Torres is usually able to provide new clients with recommendations and referrals to other healthcare practitioners to rule out any other factors that may be contributing to the reason you are seeking treatment.
How much does therapy cost?
Fees: Clinical intake $200 · Therapy session $165 · Case management $41.25 per 15 minutes
Insurance: In network with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona. Other plans: superbill provided for out-of-network reimbursement.
